After teaching a semester at Shantou University in Guangdong province in 2007, we spent several weeks touring China–Guangzhou, Guilin, Lijiang, Chengdu, Xian, Beijing and Shanghai.
We returned with my mother and sister-in-law in the Spring of 2009, visiting Beijing, Xian, Chongqing, the Yangtze River gorges, the Three Gorges Dam, Wuhan and Shanghai.
