Be Flexible, Reduce Stress

Many people try to fill every minute of their day with things to do. They believe that this makes them productive. This is true for people with jobs. It is also true for people who work at home.

The problem is that things happen every day that we do not expect. Meetings last too long. Someone comes to meet us later than we planned. We get another thing that must be done quickly. When our day is already full of things to do, we feel stress. Too much stress is bad for the body and the mind.

One solution is to plan time every day where nothing must happen. Put one-half hour for each morning and afternoon on your daily calendar. If something happens that you did not expect, the open time can be used. If nothing unexpected happens, you can use the time to relax and work more slowly. This can lower your stress.

Another solution is to plan fewer things to do. Many people fill their work and home lives with things that are not necessary. They believe that each member of the family must be busy all of the time. This is often not true.

We are the only ones who can manage our time. We can lower our own stress. We must make wise choices in how we use our time.
